Nadeesha Dilruwan

A graduate of the Informatics Institute of Technology, Nadeesha has been working in the tech industry since the start of his degree program. “By the time I was done, I already had five years of experience, and this helped me immensely throughout the years.” He started his career at Informatics Institute of Learning as a Software Engineer before eventually moving on to other promising tech enterprises in Sri Lanka. “I even had overseas opportunities a few times. But due to Covid-19 none of it materialised. So instead, I decided to look for better opportunities here,” recalls Nadeesha.

By July 2020, Nadeesha joined Swivel Tech as a Senior Software Engineer to work closely with Social Garden, a digital marketing agency based in Australia. Working with Laravel and ReactJS as his technology stacks, Nadeesha plays the role of a full stack engineer for Social Garden. From gathering requirements to building new features, Nadeesha is involved with the complete Software Development Life Cycle. “There was no developer testing in the project. So we do that too”, Nadeesha adds.
Today, Nadeesha is a critical component of both Swivel Tech and Social Garden. Among his many contributions includes a code review process for carrying out development work at Social Garden effeectively. “We work with a few developers on a number of things. I wanted to set up a process to ensure we’re all kept in check and everyone’s work don’t go unnoticed. Thankfully the client is patient and understanding. So that always helped.”
Talking about his journey with Swivel Tech, “I think we’re doing a lot of good things as a company. The fact that Swivel is constantly trying to put employees front and centre is an encouraging sight to see. It makes me hopeful about the future of Swivel Tech and I’m genuinely excited to be a part of it.”
